The domesticated Stick is a small mammal native to North America. Known for its distinctive muppety movements, black t-shirts, and crippling lack of executive function, this creature thrives in environments such as libraries, small parks, and roleplaying forums.
Stick exhibits limited social behavior, often engaging in parallel play, especially during times of high stress. It is most active when excited about a special interest or creative project, though in such cases it has also been known to annoy its friends and family by talking about literally nothing else for like a solid month.
This species has developed unique adaptations for dealing with anxiety, such as pacing, self-deprecating jokes, and building overly complicated spreadsheets in an attempt to exert some kind of control over the whims of reality. Its territorial display involves shadowboxing and yelling, "YOU WANNA FUCKING GO??", and the mating call of the Stick has never been successfully recorded.
Although generally friendly and enthusiastic, this species has been known to disappear without updates for weeks or months at a time. While this initially baffled scientists, it is now understood that this phenomenon (known as "burnout") is a natural part of the creature's lifecycle, and is not cause for alarm. Most dormancy periods last for 2–6 weeks before the Stick returns to its former territory like nothing happened.
Contact
Okay, I'm leaving the bit now. I'm just a goofy creative type with a lot of different interests. This site is a creative outlet, a form of self-expression, and a home for my many projects. I'm perpetually overbusy and may float in and out of updating my site for months at a time.
I'm not really on social media, but you're welcome to leave a comment on my Neocities page if you want to get in contact with me. You can also find me on Discord as stick_or_treat.
If you're feeling really spicy, you can support me monetarily through Neocities or Ko-fi.
Current Interests
I'm actively...
- Playing: Lies of P, Tiny Bookshop
- Reading: Vampire Clan Novel: Lasombra
- Watching: To Be Hero X
- Listening: Lots of MyNoise generators rn
Things that occupy my noggin...
- Media: The Silent Hill franchise, Rule of Rose, House of Leaves, Alice in Wonderland, whatever Trent Reznor is working on.
- Interests Videogames as a storytelling medium, DMing for Dungeons and Dragons, the horror genre, cleaning and organizing that actually works for neurodivergent folks, data analytics and visualizations, and probably CSS at the rate I'm going.
Credits
My site was built with the help of many external resources and out of a lot of different inspirations.
Home Page (link)
- Inspired by the Windows 95 and 98 operating system UIs.
- The light/dark theme toggle exists because I couldn't choose between my two favorite aesthetics. And I think it's funny.
- You can thank my partner for "myTunes" turning into "eyeTunes" when dark mode is toggled.
- The sparkle trail off my cursor is a poorly-modified version of this Sparkle Trail and Dust Cursor code.
Secret Changelog
- It's in a spot so remote and obscure that no one will ever find it.
No I don't know why I've doubled down on this joke so hard- Thanks to Baisemain for making the sellotaped note generator.
- Background texture made by Hero Patterns.
Digital Shelf (link)
- I really like pixel art. And stories.
- Aesthetics of this page will likely change soon; notes to follow.
Playlists/Mixtapes (link)
- The main page is pretty obviously inspired by my nostalgia for music cassettes and custom mixtapes.
- The code on the actual individual playlist pages comes from isopods.
- Backgrounds used for various mixtape layouts are from Hero Patterns.
Sketchbook (link)
- I wanted a spot to put nicer sketches from my actual sketchbook, as well as a few digital sketches I still like.
- I mostly sketch with black Faber-Castell Pitt artist pens, or in Krita for digital art.
- I used this open book tutorial to build the sketchbook.
- The background is from CSS3 Patterns Gallery.
About Me (you are here)
- Listen, I make me laugh and that's all that matters.
- The layout is shamelessly parodying Wikipedia.
- I play Livly Island a lot and I pretty much traced and recolored my Hom to make my self-portrait.
Writing (coming soon)
- I'm not sure what I'm doing with this yet, stuff's in progress.
Stick Reviews Everything (link)
- RIP to the original layout, which was dope but impossible to update.
- Current page built with Sadrl's Layout Builder.
- The background CSS pattern is from Hero Patterns.
- The font is Ruler 9 by somepx.
- Pixel borders were made with the Pixelated Rounded Corners Generator.
- Bullet point images are from the Pixel Bullet Iconsset made by Garara on DeviantArt.

Dreams (link)
- This page kept intentionally mysterious.
- Home page image is a photograph I took of Belvedere's "Flowers" (c. 1680) during a trip to an art museum.
