The domesticated Stick is a small mammal native to North America. Known for its distinctive muppety movements, black t-shirts, and crippling lack of executive function, this creature thrives in environments such as libraries, small parks, and roleplaying forums.
Stick exhibits limited social behavior, often engaging in parallel play, especially during times of high stress. It is most active when excited about a special interest or creative project, though in such cases it has also been known to annoy its friends and family by talking about literally nothing else for like a solid month.
This species has developed unique adaptations for dealing with anxiety, such as pacing, self-deprecating jokes, and building overly complicated spreadsheets in an attempt to exert some kind of control over the whims of reality. Its territorial display involves shadowboxing and yelling, "YOU WANNA FUCKING GO??", and the mating call of the Stick has never been successfully recorded.
Although generally friendly and enthusiastic, this species has been known to disappear without updates for weeks or months at a time. While this initially baffled scientists, it is now understood that this phenomenon (known as "burnout") is a natural part of the creature's lifecycle, and is not cause for alarm. Most dormancy periods last for 2–6 weeks before the Stick returns to its former territory like nothing happened.
Contact
Okay, I'm leaving the bit now. I'm just someone with a lot of weird ideas and special interests. This site is my creative outlet, a form of self-expression, and a home for all my projects. I'd love to chat with other creative types and/or videogame enthusiasts, so feel free to reach out if you think we have interests in common! I'm perpetually overbusy and not the best at responding in a timely manner, but I try to check messages at least once every weekday. I'm not on social media because it causes me to overthink absolutely everything I've ever said or done before I can even post anything.

Other Work
In addition to this site, I have a tumblr called Baby's First Barovia. In it, I capture my attempts to turn Curse of Strahd — D&D's infamously grimdark gothic horror module — into a PG-13 adventure-comedy. I make jokes, talk stat blocks, and tell heartwarming stories of these lil' guys playing their very first game of D&D.
I also have a tumblr where my partner and I post funny quotes from my homebrew D&D game, Life in Lockhinge. A new quote goes out daily unless I'm behind on loading up the queue.
Credits
My site was built with the help of many external resources and out of a lot of different inspirations.
Home Page (link)
- Inspired by the Windows 95 and 98 operating system UIs.
- The light/dark theme toggle exists because I couldn't choose between my two favorite aesthetics. And I think it's funny.
- You can thank my partner for "myTunes" turning into "eyeTunes" when dark mode is toggled.
- The sparkle trail off my cursor is a poorly-modified version of this Sparkle Trail and Dust Cursor code.
Secret Changelog
- It's in a spot so remote and obscure that no one will ever find it.
No I don't know why I've doubled down on this joke so hard- Thanks to Baisemain for making the sellotaped note generator.
Digital Shelf (link)
- I really like pixel art. And stories.
- I also have a fondness for collections of very small things. I don't know why.
- The bookcase style was heavily inspired by the book signatures created by Pachirisu and their team of artists on Flight Rising.
Playlists/Mixtapes (link)
- The main page is pretty obviously inspired by my nostalgia for music cassettes and custom mixtapes.
- The code on the actual individual playlist pages comes from isopods.
Sketchbook (link)
- I wanted a spot to put nicer sketches from my actual sketchbook, as well as a few digital sketches I still like.
- I mostly sketch with black Faber-Castell Pitt artist pens, or in Krita for digital art.
- I'm hoping this page will encourage me to get back into sketching regularly, because it's really good for me. I'm just extremely rusty after idk having a crisis about it and dropping the hobby for like half a decade.
- I used this open book tutorial to build the sketchbook.
- The background is from CSS3 Patterns Gallery.
About ME (you are here)
- Listen, I make me laugh and that's all that matters.
- Yes, the layout is shamelessly parodying Wikipedia.
- I play Livly Island a lot and I pretty much traced and recolored my Hom to make my self-portrait.
Untitled Vampire Story (link)
- The layout is vaguely inspired by this nostalgia I have for when I was in middle school and would just... Do a Yahoo search for whatever videogame I was into at the time, wind up on a random person's Angelfire site, and read through entire chapters of whatever fanfic they'd self-published in the couple years before fanfiction.net was big. And since my time on the sole family computer was limited to two hours a day, I would also copy entire chapters of text, paste them into a Word doc, and then print them out so I could stay up past my bedtime reading them. Not sure if that vibe really translates but I guess that's what I'm going for?
- It was also built off of Sadrl's Layout Builder because I wanted it to be mobile-friendly without a fight. But I mean, if you wanted to print it off to read it past your bedtime instead, be my guest.
Skeleton City (link)
- Right now it's just a map of Skeleton City I drew half-a-dozen years ago.
Videogames Are Cool (link)
- The splash page is inspired by early Final Fantasy titles.
- The title uses the Final Fantasy Font.
- The background is a modified version of this Shooting stars code.
- The layout of the rest of the pages is based specifically on the Party Menu UI from Final Fantasy IX.
- The main font for those pages was made by Teaito, who painstakingly recreated the lettering from the original PS1 release of Final Fantasy IX so that folks can mod the 2016 Steam remaster with it.
- This layout makes use of the texture "Buried" by Hendrik Lammers from Transparent Textures.
Dreams (link)
- This page kept intentionally mysterious.
- The image used on the home page is a photograph I took of Belvedere's "Flowers" (c. 1680) during a trip to an art museum.
